Non-Medical End-of-Life Care That Brings Dignity, Comfort & Relief
At the end of life, comfort and dignity matter more than ever. Families often expect that hospice care will provide everything their loved one needs — only to discover that personal care and daily support remain largely unmet. That’s where Supportive Home Care Services steps in.
We provide non-medical end-of-life care that complements hospice or supports clients who aren’t ready for hospice. Our team brings compassionate, hands-on care to homes across Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties, giving families peace of mind and allowing clients to live — and die — with grace.
Not Hospice — But an Essential Companion to It
Hospice is a specialized, Medicare-covered benefit that focuses on symptom management and emotional support for patients with terminal illnesses. It includes nurse visits, pain management, and spiritual guidance — but only minimal personal care, such as occasional bed baths.
Our end-of-life care is different. It is:
- Non-medical and not covered under the hospice benefit
- Delivered by trained caregivers for personal care and companionship
- Often recommended alongside hospice by healthcare providers
- Also available to individuals who aren’t yet eligible or ready for hospice
We work closely with hospice teams when needed, but we are a separate support system focused on daily living, not medical treatment.
Real-World Support in the Final Chapter of Life
In the last year of life, daily routines become more challenging — even before a person qualifies for hospice. As conditions progress, clients often need help with:
- Bathing and sponge baths
- Toileting and incontinence care
- Positioning and turning to prevent bedsores
- Feeding and nutrition reminders
- Transferring from bed to wheelchair or chair
- Light housekeeping and laundry
- Medication reminders (non-administration)
- Emotional support and conversation
- Ensuring their home remains a calm, organized space
- Sitting with them so they’re never alone
Our aides are not nurses, but they are compassionate professionals trained to care for individuals facing advanced stages of illness — from cancer and heart failure to neurodegenerative conditions and general decline.
Support for Families, Too
We understand that the final months or weeks of life are overwhelming for families. That’s why we don’t just care for clients — we care for caregivers.
Our services allow family members to:
- Get restorative sleep
- Step out for work or errands without worry
- Focus on emotional connection rather than physical caregiving
- Reduce burnout and guilt
- Be present without being overwhelmed
We bring calm, structure, and experience to a time that can feel chaotic.
When the Goal Is Comfort, We’re Here
Whether your loved one is receiving hospice care or simply reaching a stage where comfort is the priority, Supportive Home Care Services is here to help. Our care is flexible, respectful, and deeply human.
Let us help you write a better final chapter — at home, on your terms.
